Keep the Mountain in View!

'And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God'.
- Luke 6:12

Jesus was on a special assignment here on earth, and understood the importance of prayer. It didn't matter that He was the Son of God, He still went on His knees continuously. Some Christians only pray when they are in trouble, prayer is meant to be a medium of communication between us and God, and our Father desires that we have a solid relationship with Him. Apostle Paul encouraged the Colossian Christians in Colossians 4:2 to be 'Steadfast' in prayers. The Dictionary describes the word 'steadfast' as fixed in direction; steadily directed firm in purpose, resolution, faith, attachment unwavering, as resolution, faith, adherence. We cannot underestimate the importance of prayers in our lives as children of God, Jesus also told us in Luke 18:1, "Also told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up). Make up your mind as we begin another weekend to deepen your relationship with God by continuing in prayers, pray in the spirit, pray in your understanding, life a lifestyle of prayer, be fervent at all times, let God know that He can count on you to speak to Him at all times, not just when you are in trouble. We should not treat prayer like a pill we take when we have a headache or pain. You know you have more access and favour with someone you are in constant communication with than someone who only speak to once in a while. Be steadfast in prayer; continue on prayer, our God is faithful!
